Coffee Infographics/Living Green Infographics - Project 24

Introduction

The first part of the project for Digital Illustration is to create 4 infographics with one that is 3-dimensional. This is a project that you follow along with in the book. These infographics are about coffee.

The last part of the project for Digital Illustration is to create 3 infographics and the illustrations for each of them. The theme of next month’s magazine is “Living Green.” The main topics all focus on renewable energy, recycling strategies, and landfill reduction. The infographics created will coincide with the cover story.

Different methods that are being explored to supply affordable electricity in large metropolitan areas, such as New York and California will be discussed.

The graphs with the data need to be presented in a manner that is clear and understandable so that the readers of the magazine will understand.

There must be a consistent color scheme, and the color green should play a major role because most people associate green with environmentalism and natural resources.

I chose a background that involves leaves and different shades of grey. To offset the background from the graphs I use a square shape with curved corners with a light color of tan and a black stroke. This made the graph pop.

I chose to use a pie chart for the first graph, a line graph for the second graph, and a bar graph for the third graph.

The font that I used was ATC Onyx. It is professional, easy to read, and it fits the theme.

I used the color guide to make a swatch of colors that could be used through the graphs so that they kept balance and harmony.

Conclusion

While doing this project, I had a few questions. There were two sets of data, and I was unsure how to graph them and manipulate the data. I tried a few things, and I got very close. It just still does not look how I would like it to. Overall, I am happy with the designs, and they all flowed together well.
