Life In The Fast Lane - Creative Exercise 14

Introduction

These days life seems to pass by in the blink of an eye. Most people are in a hurry to get to their next destination. That next destination maybe your kid's school, your school, work, grocery store, sports practice, the gym, conferences/events, and so much more. There is always somewhere else to go. This means that we humans spend a big portion of our time driving around in our cars which is considered an extension of our homes.

Being that we spend countless hours in our vehicles, we tend to decorate and change the designs to make ourselves feel more comfortable and at home.

The exercise that I have chosen is called Life in the Fast Lane! out of the book CAFFEINE FOR THE CREATIVE MINE 250 EXERCISES TO WAKE UP YOUR BRAIN written by Stefan Mumaw and Wendy Lee Oldfield.

Now, I know what some of you may be thinking. You may even be singing: “Life in the fast lane, surely make you lose your mind, life in the fast lane yeah” a great classic by the good ole band the Eagles, at least I know I was the entire time I decided to do this exercise.

In this exercise, we are to design the dashboard of one of the following professions cowboy, doctor, park ranger, kindergarten teacher, mortician, actor or actress, creative director, circus clown, or pilot.

I chose a creative director!

So, here is “Life In The Fast Lane”:

I imagine a bright colorful dashboard with different pictures of their favorite artist and designers works as well as their family and friends put under some sort of transparent mold that the dashboard will be made of. This would be great inspiration while driving from place to place.

There will be a screen or even a laptop as a part of the dash or that comes out of the dash for storage so that they can work on projects, listen to music or videos, and handle any type of business they need when they are on the go.

They will have custom speakers and a GoPro that will match the colorful dashboard.

Conclusion

As a creative myself designing anything would be right up my alley. Your imagination wanders, and the opportunities and ideas are endless. Since this is made up, I can do whatever I want with this dashboard with no regard for money or any type of budget. My creative director’s dashboard is ideal, and I am sure every professional creative director would love to have this dashboard. It is modern, fun, and filled with awesome artwork and designs. Most of all it is mobile!
