The "Million Dollar Idea" List - Creative Exercise 20
Introduction
Everyone wants to be a millionaire! I have not met a person
who would turn down a million dollars if they were to make it, be given it, or
win it. Even the richest folks in America would not give up the chance to have
a million more bucks in one of their accounts. You know that they have 10+,
right?
Anyway, the creative exercise for my fourth week in Digital
Illustration is called The “Million Dollar Idea List”, and I came across this
exercise in the book CAFFEINE FOR THE CREATIVE MIND: 250 EXERCISES TO WAKE UP
YOUR BRAIN written by Stefan Mumaw and Wendy Lee Oldfield.
The writers of this book say they keep a list like this is
their studio. Every time they come up with an idea, they write it down. They
have been doing this for the past 10 years.
The “Million Dollar Idea” List is a list of ideas of things
that would potentially make a million dollars if they were produced.
My “Million Dollar Idea” List (With 1 idea from 6 others in my household):
Robot To Solve Your Problems
Houses That Fly
Invisible Doors
Glass Car
Invisibility Cloak
Translation Collar For Animals
Scanner For To-Go Food Orders (to make sure the order is
right)
Electronics and clothes that cool off or heat up depending
on the weather
Eyeglasses that adjust to your eyes sight as it changes over
the years
A system that can blow heat into one area of a house and
cool air into another area
An app on your phone that can form a protective shield
around you to block UV Rays
An app that can detect with Autoimmune diseases are becoming
more active
Conclusion
Now that we have discussed more about different topics such
as creative exercises, 20 ideas for businesses, and other topics, The “Million
Dollar Idea” List reminded me of them. I think all of these things are good to
keep handy, and they are not hard to create. I mean the ideation part may take
time, and it may hit you days and months later, but it is still a good idea to
keep them around because you never know what could happen. The creators of this
creative exercise said that a few of the items on their list were produced and
the person who went through with the production process did make a million or
more. The possibilities are endless. I might have to keep my list going after I
create it for this week's creative exercise so, this is the beginning.
